iona nicole.
named by my loving parents after an island in the Scottish Hebrides. i have always been supported in my endeavors and i am so grateful that lead me to try every art form i could get my hands on. art has always been a huge form of expression in my life and my ultimate dream was to combine all of my passions into one. while that may not be entirely possible, i recognize the significance in the expanding of my skills and mind in order to create as true to myself as i do now.
aspirations
i am lucky to have had the time, supplies, and ability to learn multiple crafts. while i don’t feel confident in selling anything i’ve sewn, painted, or crafted (yet), each form has had a crucial place in shaping my art into what it is now. i intend to refine these skills in order to incorporate a more broad brand that pushes the boundaries of fashion through combining mediums and translating the conceptual to the physical.
as time goes on, my most important goal is to create less waste and go vegan. why is this not how it is now? unfortunately i was not always as conscious about my business decisions and have amassed supplies that are NOT VEGAN, INCLUDING PEARLS, AND PURCHASED BRAND NEW SUPPLIES BY THE POUND. while i acknowledge my mistakes, instead of throwing anything out, the most sustainable thing to do is TO FIND A WAY use what i have instead of purchasing any new product. while it will take a while to get through these materials, rest assured all materials* from THEN on ARE vegan, thrifted, gifted, recycled, or repurposed.
*Metals are sourced brand new (for now!) to remain tarnish resistant, THE ULTIMATE GOAL IS RECYCLED METALS.
